My name is Christian Jerome and I am from Gesgapegiag, Quebec. Other than this, who am I? I’m not sure what you are anticipating, so here goes…

I am honored to be a husband to a great woman and father to one wonderful daughter. I live in the Gesgapegiag community which for the most part, is where I grew up. I have lived in various provinces and then returned home four years ago and my mission is to help myself, my family and my community. I feel that this can be done in many ways and for me, it will be through school and language.

I am currently enrolled in the Native Language Immersion Program through the Migmag-Maliseet Institute at UNB. My language is my passion and teaching seems to correlate with this. Also enrolled in the 4 year Bachelor of Education program and am very excited.

I am a Web Designer/Master. I am currently the Webmaster for Gesgapegiag.com and Wejgwapniag.com.
I solely designed and created these sites and they are in operation today. Please feel free to explore them.
I update the Gesgapegiag website for them and the Wejgwapniag site is updated by the school itself.

A lot of the time, I design websites and then there is the maintenance, myself updating them, or I teach the owner how to maintain their own updates. I can make complicated websites and user-friendly ones, depending on the technological limits of the individual requesting the site.

I have been designing websites since 1996. I have my own official website entitled www.apagtug.ca and on this you could view where I have come and where I am going; technologically.

I have a well rounded knowledge of Operating Systems from Windows 3.1 to Vista, Unix to Linux (Ubuntu 7.10 is the one I’m currently using) and Tiger to Leopard (but I prefer my PC over a Mac any day).

I also have a lot of experience and knowledge in Photoshop, Indesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, most of the Microsoft Office products and Smartboard. I recently attended a Smartboard training through the FNEC (First Nations Education Council).

I have a good understanding of internet programming from JavaScript to MySQL. Most sites that I develop are written in php and html. Over the years, I have created my own coding for my websites by using my own Migmag encryption patterns.

On a side note, I am part owner of a Drum Workshop, with my father that teaches individuals, groups or schools the significance of the drum in a Migmag Perspective. They also are taught, by us, how to make their own drum. This is a wonderful experience.
